Our Fee Structure

We can provide caregivers through two different plans. In the Contract System, in addition to providing the caregiver, Cardinal takes care of the wages, tax remittances and all paperwork. In the Placement System, Cardinal will provide caregivers for you to interview, you make the choice of caregiver, and you will be responsible for wages, benefits and deductions, etc. Read on for a complete explanation of the terms and fees in these two plans.

The Contract System

The Contract System is most commonly used for on-call, or occasional hours, or for part-time or short-term situations, but can also be utilized for regular ongoing full-time service. It is more convenient for the client, as you pay Cardinal to take care of the wages and remittances, and all paperwork involved. You will still receive a receipt for tax purposes. A weekly or monthly cost can be determined based on individual circumstances. Please call us to discuss your needs.

You will pay a registration fee of $50.00 and sign a contract that entitles you to use the service when required and have access to the back-up service. There is a flat hourly rate that you will be billed bi-weekly. The Agency pays the caregiver and takes care of all deductions and benefits, statutory holidays, vacation pay and worker’s compensation.

CONTRACT SYSTEM FEE STRUCTURE:

Annual Registration Fee: $50.00
Flat Hourly Rate: $22.99
24-hour short-term live-in care for the elderly: from $229 and up daily

Please note that rates are subject to change with two weeks notice and may differ due to individual situations.

  • Invoiced bi-weekly
  • Agency pays caregiver, including benefits and deductions
  • 3 hour minimum at one time
  • Payments due within 30 days

The Placement System

This system applies if you need a caregiver full-time or part-time on a live-in or live-out basis for long term care, and you wish to be the employer, and do the payroll and remittances yourself.

For a single placement fee the Agency will provide caregivers for you to interview, and you hire the caregiver of your choice. The caregiver will become your employee, and you will be responsible for wages, benefits and deductions, statutory holidays, vacation pay and Worker’s Compensation remittances. Cardinal will provide a placement package with the information regarding wages and benefits, the proper forms to be used and will assist you with the process.

Cardinal Nannies & Caregivers Inc. provides a three-month guarantee on the placement. Beyond the three months, if a new caregiver is required, there will be a new, negotiable fee charged. If it does not work out well within the guarantee period, we will do everything we can to replace the nanny or caregiver or offer a partial refund, depending on individual circumstances.

A one year registration to the contract back-up service is available to placement clients. A deposit is required prior to commencing interviews, with the balance due upon final selection of the caregiver.

A partial placement fee may be discussed for shorter or part time placements.
